Web design is not just a matter of putting images and text together, but a process of developing a competitive tool that presents your business on the crowded World Wide Web.
Ultimately, we follow the 6 basic principles in designing and developing a website.
1. Visual experience
This is the first aspect of the website that visitors experiences. It has been proven that if a visitor of your website does not like the actual visual look, and feel of the landing page, it is much likely that he / she will go away. Anyway, your visitor is one click away from another website... This also depends on the target audience.
2. Quality of content
Quality of content is as important as any of the 5 basic design principles. It is only after a few mouse clicks, your visitors start to notice the actual usefulness of the information provided on your website.
3. Easy to use navigation
It can be a daunting task for the visitor of your website to find the information he or she needs. Sometimes all your visitor wants is our telephone number! You Visitor has to be able to type your website address, and in 1 or 2 clicks, finds the information he or she needs.
4. Loading Speed
No one likes waiting in queues... The same philosophy goes for your website. Your visitors want to come the site, get the information he or she needs, and leave. This is an important aspect especially in consideration of the Internet connection speed. Just ask yourself, who will wait 10 minutes or an hour just to see your products pictures or photos of your company board members...
5. Interactivity
This is one area in which the website differs from TV or radio. Your website gives you and your visitors the ability to have a dialogue. No other medium before could allow the user to choose what they want to see. Your visitor might want to leave details, to enquire on certain subjects, to subscribe to your mailing list, or participate in forums... It is always good to track where your visitors are coming from, what web pages they visit.
6. Marketing or Search Engine Optimization
This is listed last with us, but actually the first since this is how they find you on Google. This is where potential clients search for services and location, just like how you found us when you typed in "web designers in namibia", we can also help your clients find you....
